Colours and Shapes

I’m in the thick of it… a my Master of Design Degree at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in beautiful Vancouver, BC… And my kids are starting to provide me with better critiques of my work than I have received from many an undergraduate during my previous degree.

They’ve grown up in a world of co-creation workshops, ethnographic design research and art + design shows where people have taken the time to share their concepts and explain their motivation. What stands before me today are the men of tomorrow – thoughtful, creative souls with a keen eye for detail and enough sense to let a lady explain herself before interjecting.

I understand that this is not the experience of every child, but I do hope that this blog will allow parents an opportunity to “get their feet wet” – try things they wouldn’t have otherwise known to do. In turn, Carina and I both look forward to you responses! Tell us what you have seen/done/pushed yourself to do – if you are inspired, tell us where you go for your own inspiration.

In the words of my 8-year-old son, lets do this!
